Born on October 27, 1981, in the beautiful village of Moragalla, the Venerable Thero entered the monastic life on October 10, 1992, under the guidance of the Chief Judicial Sanghanayaka, Venerable Moragalle Vimaladhamma Tissa Nayaka Thero, who was the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Buddhasiri Maha Viharaya in Moragalla at that time. Upon Becoming a monk, he was given the monastic name Venerable Moragalle Ariyavimala Thero.

Since 1993, he has been serving continuously as the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Buddhasiri Maha Viharaya, dedicating his life to the progress and preservation of the Buddha Sasana.

He completed his primary monastic education at the Kande Viharastha Kshetrarama Maha Pirivena. On the first day of the Esala month in 2001, he attained the higher ordination (Upasampada) under the guidance of Venerable Kaluwamodara Seelarathana Tissa Anunayaka Thero, the Chief Prelate of the Kaluwamodara Shresthasanna Puran Maha Viharaya and its affiliated temples.

For his higher education, he entered the University of Kelaniya, where he successfully completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006 and later obtained his Master of Arts degree in 2018.

In 2009, he received his first teaching appointment and simultaneously assumed duties as the Head of the Kaluwamodara Siri Seelasumana Vidyatilaka Maha Pirivena. As an educator, he began his noble journey of nurturing and guiding thousands of young monks in their monastic and academic lives.

One of the most remarkable contributions of his monastic career is the construction of the internationally revered Sankassapura Sri Sambuddharaja Buddha Shrine. Conceptualized and designed under his own vision, this temple stands today as a proud landmark and spiritual symbol of the Moragalla village.

Furthermore, demonstrating his commitment to education and community service, he has been serving since 2013 as the Honorary Secretary of the Kalutara Totamuna Beruwala South Regional Educational Board, taking responsibility for the development and welfare of Dhamma school students in the Beruwala area.

In addition, he serves as a Working Committee Member of the Amarapura Moolawanshika Maha Nikaya, actively contributing to the administration and advancement of the Buddhist order. In recognition of his invaluable service to the Sasana, he has been honored with numerous titles and distinctions.
