Born on October 27, 1981, in the beautiful village of Moragalla, the Venerable Thero entered the monastic life on October 10, 1992, under the guidance of the Chief Judicial Sanghanayaka, Venerable Moragalle Vimaladhamma Tissa Nayaka Thero, who was the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Buddhasiri Maha Viharaya in Moragalla at that time. Upon Becoming a monk, he was given the monastic name Venerable Moragalle Ariyavimala Thero.
Since 1993, he has been serving continuously as the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Buddhasiri Maha Viharaya, dedicating his life to the progress and preservation of the Buddha Sasana.

On the first day of the Esala month in 2001, he attained the higher ordination (Upasampada) under the guidance of Venerable Kaluwamodara Seelarathana Tissa Anunayaka Thero, the Chief Prelate of the Kaluwamodara Shresthasanna Puran Maha Viharaya and its affiliated temples.
