Welcome to Sankassapura Sri Sambuddharaja Buddhist Mansion
A home of peace, wisdom, and community for all who seek the Dhamma
Introduction
Our Temple
Located in the Moragalla, Bentota tourist zone in the Western Province, the newly built "Sankassapura Sri Sambuddharaja Buddhist Mansion" within the historic Moragalla Sri Buddhasiri Maha Vihara premises is a unique sacred site that awakens deep devotion in the hearts of local and international devotees, as well as tourists. Adorned with Sri Lankan Buddhist arts, crafts, paintings, and sculptures, this mansion features exceptional architecture. It was opened for the veneration of Buddhists worldwide in 2025 by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Locals and foreigners who visit this shrine will undoubtedly experience a profoundly peaceful and spiritual encounter that soothes the mind with the great compassion of the Buddha. Under the guidance of our venerable monks, daily observances, meditation programs, Poya day Sil campaigns, and numerous community welfare services are conducted here.
